Lukewarm Stove

Don’t you hate it when your baseball team jerks you around like a plush toy in a pit bull’s mouth?

C’mon Omar Minaya and the Mets – cut me some slack. The first move you make after three seasons of no playoffs and being a HIGH payroll team is to re-sign Alex Cora. Don’t get me wrong Alex Cora is an OK major leaguer but that’s our priority? Oh, I almost forgot we also established a Mets museum at Citi Field – that’s super. It really takes the sting out of a 90+ loss season. Sure will boost ticket sales too. Can see everyone heading into that museum when the Mutts are 37-45 in July.

The Mets need to make a splash and not one as the team plunges into the depths of the NL East. This is a team that has disappointed at the same time that it has overcharged. Minaya can hide behind the 2009 rash of injuries but scapegoats for his bad decisions are gone and he is next if this is not a playoff team.

We need a top tier outfielder in the worst way.

Right you are – -right handed bat in left field — – (I like that we Jeff) – — any free agents out there ??? sorry Bosox fans- – but if i were Jason Bay, I’d stay in Fenway and not come to the unfriendly confines of Citi Field but he’d be perfect –

Matt Holliday is the biggest name out there. Otherwise there’s Bay, Marlon Byrd, Mike Cameron, Xavier Nady (no thanks), and Randy Winn (no thanks).

Other thing the Mets could definitely use is starting pitching. But then again, who knows what’s there because almost every starter was hurt for a good portion of the year.
